If you are interesting in seeing the valley in its lush, green phase, then visit Temecula between May and October. This week I am pruning our second-year wine grape vines in preparation for the new growing season. The vines are just about to come out of dormancy and now is the right time to prune and train them.
At the Rusty Fork Ranch, which is a bed and breakfast style getaway in the epicenter of the Temecula Valley vineyards, we have 105 vines so that our guests can check out up close the vines and grapes during throughout the year. Between November and April, the vines are Tim Burton-like, meaning they are all dormant and lifeless little tree-sticks with no green leaves.
To be accurate, the Rusty Fork Ranch is a Bed & Coffee, since we don't serve meals.
If you want to avoid the usual hotel experience, come stay at the Rusty Fork Ranch this year and enjoy Temecula and all its amazing adventures.
